I love using my slow-cooker, and not just for stews and soups, I use it at least once a week to cook meats and other dishes. I love that it is such a low-maintenance kitchen appliance, plus its fantastic to use in the upcoming warmer months because it saves me from heating up the house with the oven or the stovetop!

This recipe is really simple and incredibly delicious. When it's cooked you can serve the pork over rice, noodles or even stuffed into wraps topped with a crunchy. I love recipes like this that are so versatile.

Slow-Cooker Asian-Style Pulled Pork

Ingredients
2 1/2 lbs. boneless pork roast
1/2 an onion (diced)
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. clover honey
2 tbsp. sesame seeds
1 tbsp. corn starch
1 tbsp. crushed red chili pepper flakes
Sliced scallions to garnish

Instructions
Whisk together the garlic powder, soy sauce, brown sugar, red chili pepper flakes, honey and sesame seeds. Add the pork and onion to the slow-cooker and pour the sauce over the top.

Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.

Transfer the pork roast to a cutting board and shred using forks or tongs. Pour the reserved juices from the slow-cooker into a saucepan on top of the stove and whisk in the cornstarch. Head on medium until the sauce thickens.

Add the pork back into the slow-cooker and pour the now-thickened sauce over top. Serve over rice or noodles and garnish with scallion before serving.
